Alocasia “Silver Dragon” is one of 3 variants of the species Alocasia baginda, the other two being A. baginda “Dragon Scale,” and A. baginda “Green Dragon.” The leaves of this species are greyish-silver and looks like it has the scales of a reptile. This plant is also part of the Jewel Alocasia group and hails from Borneo.
Soil: well-draining and soft soil by using sterile mulch, perlite, peat, or garden compost.
Light: 70-80% filtered direct sunlight
Water: Water once the top 2-3 inches of soil dry out. Usually, thrice a week in Summer.
Temperature: Between 18° and 27°C.
Fertilizer: Twice a month in the growing season. Use calcium-rich fertilizer at 1/3 of the recommended strength.
Alocasia Silver Dragon can grow up to about 1.6 feet tall and leaf size is about 15 cm in length and 5-8 cm width.
