This Alocasia is a popular houseplant worldwide as it is easily propagated. In the wild, it is native to the Philippines. And can grow quite tall up to about 3 meters or 10 feet. Its called zebrina because its stems are striped. It prefers high humidity as with all Alocasias it originates from the tropics. The leaves are quite large bisected at its base to prominent triangular lobes like some other Alocasias e.g. Alocasia x amazonica.
Soil: Loose and well-draining potting soil.
Water: Once or twice a week. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. Watering when all stems start to droop slightly.
Light: Bright indirect sunlight
Temperature: Between 18°C and 28°C
Fertilizer: Every two weeks. Balanced houseplant fertilizer is enough.
Alocasia zebrina can quickly grows up to 3 feet tall when growing in the right conditions.
